It’s important to prioritize external versus internal cues because as humans that’s how we are designed to learn most effectively. An example of an internal cue is verbally expressing to our athletes to, “Keep your chest up” or “Flatten your back”. Telling young athletes those cues for the first time may not work well because they don’t know what that means.
