Who remembers the launch of Channel 4 - from exactly 43 years ago tonight? It is really difficult to describe how, before smart tvs, before even satellite tv came along, that all of our tv came through an aerial on the roof, and now we had an extra channel to watch (as long as nobody was watching something else on the other side). It was really exciting at the time, a time when we couldn’t begin to comprehend what television would look like today. I think my two favourites from those early days
