The official trapping season for land traps ended yesterday, however the outrageously long water trapping season for otters, beavers and muskrat lasts until March 31st. Trappers set cages in the water that slowly drown muskrats. Otters and beavers are crushed in body-gripping "kill" traps that frequently don't kill the animal quickly. The Kentucky Humane Society is down to our last cans of canned kitten, cat and dog food and we need your help. We currently have over 150 kittens in foster care and even more at the shelter waiting to leave for foster care.
