52K views · 166 reactions | Contrary to what I thought, the stripper header does a great job picking up lodged (flat) crops! I still had the rotor a good 6" off the ground and it was combing every head up, practically no losses. There is a greater ingestion of straw this way of course, and since the combine is set for 0 straw, the feeder chain is making a bit of a protest about the damp rope I'm asking it to convey. | The Crackpot Farmer | Facebook
