While the onset of tic disorders in adults is uncommon, in some cases the onset may be a recurrence of a tic disorder from childhood. I’m a living example! My tics mostly subsided, but as I grew into adulthood they came back as subtle motor and vocal tics. For others, they can go away completely. Most medical studies still don’t know why or how tics can onset in childhood or adulthood, more research is needed to better understand the many facets of precipitating events. #tics #tourettes #tic #to
