Recovery of our D Class Lifeboat back onto the slipway ready for service 🛟🚜 | RNLI Calshot Lifeboat

Not even 10minutes after posting this video on our Instagram page of our D Class ILB gracefully skimming over the Solent on a recent exercise, it was doing it for a real tasking - talk about timing! Fortunately for all involved on this occasion this afternoon, the crew were stood down whilst making way to scene and promptly returned to station. With 3-metre seas and winds gusting to 30 knots, Skerries and Clogherhead Lifeboat launched to the assistance of a 10-metre fishing boat that had suffered engine problems in Dublin Bay. Skerries volunteers were first to arrive and found the skipper in no immediate danger. A tow was started and was then handed over to Clogherhead shortly after. As a team, both lifeboats safely secured the vessel in Skerries Harbour. | RNLI
