I sure do miss this old gal! This PBY Catalina was locally based for many years. It was flown down to Florida to film Indianapolis when the pilots forgot to seal the hull and the poor bird started to take on water. They managed to beach it, then got it floating, but unfortunately the tragically inept recovery crew managed to tear the bird apart as they attempted to lift it onto a barge. #PBY #flyingboat #warbirds #wwii #fighterplane #airshow #rrmerlin #radialengine #aviationphotography #pilotlif
