I spend some time preparing my clay ready to throw at the start of the day. What do you do to prepare yourself for throwing? Weighing out the clay helps with consistent sized mugs, the other benefit of this is that over time I learn how far I can push a particular sized piece of clay. Using a rams head wedge to get consistency throughout each ball of clay. This gets the particles all moving in the same direction and evens out the moisture in the clay and also removes air pockets. #Clay #pottery
