As a Gemmologist I do not recommend damaging the gemstones but for this exercise I seemed to ignore my own advice and try and break a tigers eye bead! 🤣 Here’s the story: A customer had sent me the bead because she thought it was chipped and it looked as if it may have been coated. I have NEVER seen that before in tigers eye so she sent it to me so I could have a look! On inspection with my loupe I could see that what looked like a chip was intact the shellac they use during the cutting process
