Understanding Discernment: Meaning and Importance

How do you discern a person? It’s more than feelings or what your eyes notice. True discernment is the Holy Spirit leading you and Jesus shaping how you judge things. But before you identify deceit in others, ask yourself: are you even aware of the deceit in your own heart? Matthew 7:15–16 already warns us, but do you read your Bible? Do you pray? Do you walk with Jesus? Do you love people the way He commands? Because if you don’t read, you will bleed spiritually.
