Check out CSX's newest heritage locomotive honoring the Seaboard Coast Line (SCL) railroad! Established in 1967, the SCL operated from Virginia to Florida and served as a vital link in the southeast United States. It eventually became part of the Family Lines System before being incorporated into today’s CSX. Another locomotive is joining the CSX heritage lineup! Our tenth design commemorates the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad, chartered in 1836. The RF&P merged with Washington Southern in 1920 to form the Richmond-Washington Company which later became part of Conrail, and ultimately CSX. CSX 1836 will carry the RF&P colors across our network, reinforcing our #ONECSX team’s pride in the almost 200-year history of our railroad. | CSX
