ORCAS!!! On Tuesday we enjoyed prolonged views of a pod of four Orcas in Bressay Sound. The pod comprised one huge adult male, two females and a tiny calf only a few months old! As one of the co-authors of the Scottish Orca Photo ID catalogue Hugh is pretty certain they are 'new' animals which have not previously been documented in Scottish waters. This stunning Shetland view is from Bressay looking across to the Isle of Noss, once inhabited but now a National Nature Reserve. While your wildlife watching over there, keep your eyes peeled for a very special creature unique to the Northern Isles - Trows. These folk beings are a perfect example of the mix of cultures, similar to Scottish Fairies, but with a wee bit of Scandinavian Troll mixed in. They live underground, love music and aren't bothered by how their antics affect us mortals. One
