The little beauty seen here is commonly known as the pinkeye goby. Ichthyologists know the species as Bryaninops natans. Pretty easy to see where its common name came from. A very small fish that attains a maximum length of one-inch, the pinkeye goby is an Indo-Pacific species that is usually encountered as it hovers over or on stands of Acropora corals in shallow lagoons.
