Erroll Garner is a self-taught pianist who claims to have never learned to read sheet music. He memorizes everything he composes and plays by ear. His ear, technique, and dexterity have allowed him to have an international career. He is famous for his very personal swing, but the piece that earned him jazz star status is Misty, composed in 1954 and which has become a great standard covered by hundreds of performers worldwide.
