You couldn’t pick a better time to get into traditional archery. There’s a wide variety of good, affordable gear. Plus, there are great online resources for new shooters (more on that in a moment).

Thirty archers armed with bamboo bows and arrows sit on a platform awaiting instruction. They take aim at a straw cylinder about 18 metres away. Each archer has 34 arrows to shoot in four minutes.
