Malaysian officials confirmed that search teams will return to the Indian Ocean to look for the missing plane, almost 11 years after it disappeared.

The Boeing 777 plane disappeared from radar shortly after taking off on March 8, 2014, carrying 239 people, on a flight from Malaysia’s capital, Kuala Lumpur, to Beijing.

"The latest development underscores the government of Malaysia's commitment to providing closure to the families affected by this tragedy," the ministry said.
