Over 4,500 Entergy customers were without power in the Old Metairie area Wednesday morning, according to the utility's outage map. Buildings stretching from Metairie Avenue to Indian Beach were without power. The outage started at around 9:40 a.m., according to Entergy. At its height, the outage affected 5,300 households.

A power outage of unknown origin has left thousands of Central Electric Membership Corporation customers without power Tuesday night.

The outage is in Old Metairie, with 1,758 residents impacted. At one point 5,586 residents had no electricity. "We are aware of the outage in Old Metairie. Crews are working now to restore customers as quickly and safely as possible," an Entergy spokesperson said. According to the map, power is expected to be restored by noon.
