Cows are not known for their intelligence, but Veronika, a 13-year-old Swiss Brown, has worked out how to scratch an itch with a broom.

Video taken as part of a research study in Europe shows a cow using a broom to scratch its own back, and it's the first documented case in a scientific paper of a cow using a tool in this manner.
