Amid heavy rains Sunday, dropping temperatures overnight and strong winds and snow forecast for Monday morning, Consumers Energy is ready for any possible power outages.

Work to upgrade an electrical substation will knock out power for thousands of customers this weekend in Caledonia.

A winter storm in Michigan left over 30,000 customers without power as ice and snow battered mid-Michigan. Mecosta, Clare, and Oakland counties faced the largest outages, with crews working to clear trees and repair damaged lines.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Thousands across Michigan are without power Friday, Dec. 26, as freezing rain has taken down trees and power lines. Many of the outages are occurring north of Grand Rapids, according to Consumers Energy’s Outage Map.

Thousands of residents in West Michigan are currently without power due to storms. According to the Consumers Energy outage map, just under 2,500 customers in Barry County in the area around Thornapple are without power. It's expected to be restored around noon, Consumers Energy estimated on their outage map.
